How to play Wild Toms

1. Catch

• You get 10 wild Tom sightings a day. A sighting is used up once you catch the Tom or he gets away.
• Tap Throw a tiny cup. A ring shrinks around the Tom: throw when it’s small (green) for the best chance, yellow is OK, red is a long shot.
• You get 3 throws per Tom. Rarer Toms are harder to catch: Common, then Uncommon, Rare, and Legendary (toughest).

2. Your Case Files

• Every Tom you catch goes in your Case Files. Ones you haven’t caught show as ???.
• New players start with 3 Rookies, so you can battle straight away.
• It’s saved in this browser on this device. A different device, a private window or clearing site data starts a fresh one.

3. Battle

• Pick 3 Toms. The computer picks 3 of about the same strength.
• On your turn, tap one of your Tom’s two moves, or swap in another Tom (that uses your turn).
• A Tom’s green bar is its Cover. At zero he’s Exposed (knocked out) and you send in the next one for free.
• Knock out all 3 of the computer’s Toms to win.

Types

Every Tom has a type: Office, Party, Sport, Snack, Stealth, Glitch or Chaos. Each beats the next one in that order (and Chaos beats Office). Hitting a type you beat is super effective: double damage. Hitting the type that beats you does 30 less.

Moves and Quirks

Some moves flip coins, make the other Tom Awkward (50% chance to fumble his next move) or make him skip a turn. Some Toms have a Quirk, like blocking damage or hanging on with 10 Cover once.

Points

25 for each Tom you knock out, 100 for a win, 50 more if none of your Toms go down. Save your score for the Today, This week, This month, This year and All-time boards.
